Lichfield

Hi, I’m Dan

Dan is a dad to a 4-year-old boy and lives in Armitage. He has been a Primary School Teacher for over 12 years and currently teaches three days a week at a school in Sutton Coldfield, where he is also the Phonics and Early Reading Lead.
Most of Dan’s teaching career has been spent in Reception, where he loves introducing children to the exciting world of letters, sounds, and stories. He is incredibly passionate about phonics and early reading, and one of his favourite moments as a teacher is seeing that magical “lightbulb moment” when a child blends sounds together for the first time and realises they can read a word all by themselves.
Dan strongly believes that children learn best when they are having fun. He loves bringing learning into play and creating energetic, engaging sessions where children can move, sing, laugh, and learn at the same time. His Robot Reg classes are designed to make phonics exciting and accessible, helping children build confidence while developing the essential skills they need to become successful readers.
As a parent himself, Dan understands just how important those early experiences with books can be. At home he reads with his son every day, and it’s been wonderful to see his growing love of stories as he excitedly picks up books and retells his favourite parts.
Through his classes, Dan hopes to give children a strong phonics foundation, build their confidence, and most importantly help them develop a lifelong love of books and reading.
