Phonics with Robot Reg is the brainchild of sisters Charlie Day and Alex Burnside.
Phonics with Robot Reg
In 2016, Charlie and Alex launched Phonics with Robot Reg classes which offer phonics lessons for ages 3 months – 6 years. The pair franchised the business and have 50 franchises in England. In 2019, they made the brand international when they opened classes in Melbourne, Sydney and Perth, Australia.
As a result of the success of Phonics with Robot Reg, parents and class leaders alike were keen for the pair to expand the business to include a maths focus, and it was out of this interest that Counting Kids was born.
Alex, a former primary school teacher, was aware from her teaching and the experience of her own children that a good understanding of maths is vital for children’s early development. She wanted to make maths both fun and attainable; for children to be able to view maths positively and as something that they can do.
Charlie and Alex are passionate that equipping children with skills, knowledge and a positive mindset in their early, formative years is essential to create happy, confident children who are interested in and excited about learning as they enter school.
